WHY COMMIT TO GENDER EQUITY?
As a business, we foster a culture grounded in our values and the behaviours we expect from one another; listening to understand, communicating with clarity, and treating everyone with respect. We want a workplace where people feel included and psychologically safe, where different voices are heard and everyone can speak up, contribute and grow. When we apply these behaviours consistently, we build fairness and trust across the organisation.
We know gender equity and broader diversity strengthen performance. Diverse perspectives improve decisions, sharpen risk awareness, and lead to better outcomes for customers and communities. Inclusive teams solve problems faster and lift standards for everyone.
While we have made progress, we are still at the beginning of our journey. Our focus is to increase female participation at all levels and ensure equitable access to opportunity, through transparent processes, clear expectations and minimum behavioural standards that are modelled consistently. This is how we create a culture where people can do their best work and see a future here.
We are taking practical steps to make this real, including flexible and part-time working arrangements, inclusive recruitment practices, and the introduction of a paid parental leave program. Supporting work–life balance helps us attract and retain great people and enables sustainable performance and growth.
We will continue to monitor and measure our diversity efforts and hold ourselves accountable for results. Owning both the process and the outcomes means using data, listening to lived experience, and acting on timely, useful feedback. That discipline strengthens our culture and helps us lift performance in a way that is fair and inclusive.
We acknowledge that while the concept of gender equity may seem simple, the solution is complex, and we will keep learning as we go. That is why becoming a member of CEOs for Gender Equity matters for our business: it connects us with peers to share challenges, learn what works, and bring solutions to the table. It reinforces our intent to do the right thing for the right reason, in the right way.
We will approach this with a growth mindset and a willingness to challenge old assumptions. We will seek out different perspectives and create the safety for people to raise issues early. These behaviours are not “nice to have”; they are the foundation of a high-performance culture that learns quickly and improves continuously.
Gender equity is ongoing work, and progress depends on all of us. When we live our values consistently, we strengthen belonging and unlock higher performance, innovation and growth. By working together, within our organisation and alongside our peers, we give ourselves the best chance to create lasting, positive change for our people, our industry, and the communities we serve.
