Why commit to better balance?
Diversity increases the effectiveness and value of our society.
Organisations with a workforce that reflects the diversity of our society are able to draw on the fullest range of skills, experience and understanding available to be more productive and offer excellent customer service. We need a shift in workplace culture to continue building on our principles to ensure they are reflected in reality.
This shift starts at an executive level. People look to their leaders for direction and inspiration. CEOs in particular need to champion equity and diversity. The example of leadership commitment provided by CEOs for Gender Equity is an important part of Western Australia’s efforts to increase female participation in positions of influence and reduce the gender pay gap.
