November 2020

Newsletter

Kaya! November was a big month - we saw Joe Biden elected as the 46th president of the United States with Kamala Harris as Vice President, commemorated NAIDOC Week 2020, heard new gender equity data at WGEA's data launch, and celebrated the opening of WA's Boola Bardip museum. And there's only one month until 2021!

Peter Bennett in The Sunday Times

"Pretty thrilled to crack a mention in the same breath as J-Lo, no matter how far removed," Tania said on Twitter.

See Clough's Peter Bennett in "on the up" with Jenna Clarke below (although, Peter did remark to Tania that "no one can see me next to J-Lo!").

Harris makes history with Biden

On Inauguration Day, Senator Kamala Harris will become the first woman to be vice president of the United States after Joe Biden was declared the winner of the presidential election. Her election will make her the first Black, Indian, and Caribbean-American woman to serve in the country's second-highest office.

Some positive key findings include women's promotions continue to rise, improvements to parental leave access, increased employer action on family and domestic violence, and a gender balance increase at top leadership levels.
