Why commit to gender equity?
As a CEO in an industry that employs a very high percentage of women, myself and other community sector leaders have a great opportunity to lead by example in our own organisations when it comes to gender equity. We should all be leading from the top to ensure that gender equity is an integral part of our own organisations’ culture and practices.
Advocating for greater diversity and equality in society are values which underpin our work at WACOSS, as they do in the wider community services sector; creating a more diverse and equitable workforce in WA is a vital step in making this a reality.
As the CEO of a peak community sector body, WACOSS is proud to champion the cause of gender equity and to stand alongside numerous sector colleagues who are already doing so much to enable the young girls and women of all ages to reach their full potential.
