Western Power CEO
In his own words...
Why commit to gender equity?
Diverse organisations have demonstrated that they deliver better business results. At Western Power, our long term goal is to have a workforce that reflects the diversity of community that we serve. As a male-dominated blue collar workforce, the challenge to balance gender participation across our business is a significant one.
Our industry is changing, along with many others across our State, so we need to adapt to meet changing community needs. One of the key drivers of change is diversity in thinking, skills, backgrounds and perspectives of our people.
It’s up to our senior leaders to be role models for equality, by building and maintaining a strong talent pipeline. As a leadership team we’ve decided to be bold and establish targets to accelerate the rate of change. You simply can’t drive change if you keep doing the same things.
Having worked on most continents of the world, I look forward to sharing my global perspectives with my CEO peers here in Perth.
