WHY COMMIT TO GENDER EQUITY?
At Harry Maxwell our clients engage us as trusted partners and actively request our support and advice related to talent, human capital, equity, diversity and inclusion.
In my capacity as Managing Director of Harry Maxwell, I chose to become an active member of CEOs for Gender Equity to better equip myself and our key people to understand the challenges and solutions associated with driving better diversity, equity and inclusion outcomes for our clients, and importantly within our own teams.
There is strong evidence to support that diversity, and inclusion engages broader perspectives to drive better decision making and problem solving across the technical, senior and executive leadership teams that we are entrusted to help build, and we choose to engage with clients who understand the importance of providing an environment where everyone has an equal opportunity to contribute regardless of their gender.
We have seen first-hand that companies who genuinely embrace equity and inclusion as key values perform better when it comes to talent attraction and retention, which is vital in today’s competitive market.
Equal opportunities for all and an equitable playing ground for every team member is important to us. We are proud of the environment and culture we have built at Harry Maxwell where flexible working arrangements are embraced, our people always feel comfortable to contribute, and there is pay parity at all levels.
We understand the benefits of workplaces without discrimination of any type, and we appreciate the importance of all CEOs and senior leaders advocating for diversity, equity and inclusion in the communities in which we serve.
Gender equity starts at the top and overt modelling of behaviours from leaders is important to normalise initiatives such as flexible working arrangements and paternal leave initiatives to create an environment where all staff feel comfortable to take advantage of them.
We look forward to working further with all members of the CEOs for Gender Equity to drive gender equity, now and into the future.
